Saturday 26th October - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny/misty sunrise then cloudy.

Walk 1 – Felixstowe Ferry sunrise.

Mag and I both had a disturbed night as full of germs, I did go off eventually but woke at the usual 6 with Mag then making a drink, I dozed for an hour before deciding to drive down to Felixstowe Ferry to catch the sunrise as the winds were light and I was hoping for some mist over the Deben:) There was a bank of cloud on the horizon so sunrise would be delayed but there was already several golfers out on the course despite the dewy conditions with mist inland as usual but not much over the river. Parking just before 7.30 I walked to the boatyard and I have had better morning as there was a touch of breeze on the water messing with the reflections. I then walked to the Martello tower as the sun made on appearance getting a lovely golden colour so after taking a few picks I headed back to the boatyard to get some nice shoots with the sun on the boats, seeing a very friendly robin and a kingfisher whiz past:) I had a nice chat with another photographer I have seen here a few times before as an interesting bank of cloud quickly covered the sun not to be seen again today! Home to sort out my pics to send to the TV weather and was chuffed to get one on the ITV, got to love Chris Page:)

Walk 2 – Around Felixstowe.

Then after lunch and cancelling a family visit to Surrey tomorrow, we couldn’t face the drive when feeling under the weather Mag and I headed out for a walk thinking we needed some air! Around the houses, past Lidl and down to the busy prom where we walked around the pier watching the gulls, the tide was low exposing loads of beach with the ugly grey rock groynes stretching as far as the eye could see:( Ambling along we turn into the Spa gardens by the theatre and bump into birdwatching friend Roger and stop for a chat before going to Gregs to get a couple of donuts and home to enjoy them with a cuppa:)
